The Autumn Basket | Sashiko Slow Stitching Kit No. 7 | 22 piece set
Inspired by a basket gathered from the orchard, the sunflower patch and the last of the garden. Includes Kakinohana (persimmon flower), a pattern for abundance and nothing wasted, and a lotus seed pod design, a symbol of renewal.
8 pre-printed sashiko designs on reclaimed fabrics in rust red, olive green, ochre, chocolate brown and oatmeal, printed in heat-erasable ink. Pick a square, thread your needle and stitch.
Once you've finished stitching, iron your piece. The heat makes the printed guidelines disappear.
Every piece in the kit is reclaimed, so each one is slightly different. The designs are inspired by traditional sashiko patterns. The stand-out piece is the lotus seed pods, a symbol of renewal. Kakinohana (persimmon flower) is a pattern for a bountiful harvest. The kit also has blossoms, a four-petal bloom, tortoiseshell hexagon flowers, a stepped diamond, a lattice of stars and scattered star flowers. Each kit has its own colour palette and bonus fabrics.
The kit also includes a large library of bonus fabrics for patchwork and collage, including a Liberty print, a peach print, a sunflower print, a vintage embroidered grape leaf piece, an embroidered organza panel with pompom flowers, ikat and a rust wool.

🌿 Why Choose Reclaimed Materials?
Reclaimed materials reduce waste in two powerful ways: they keep textiles out of landfill, and reduce the demand for new materials that require energy, water, and raw resources to produce.
By choosing reclaimed, you’re not just sourcing fabric — you’re taking part in a more thoughtful, circular way of making.
We also believe reclaimed materials invite a different kind of creativity — one that’s more resourceful, intuitive, and personal.
🧵 About Reclaimed Materials
Each piece is unique. Photos give a good indication of what you’ll receive, but tones, textures, and sizes may vary slightly from batch to batch.
Because these materials have had a previous life, you may notice small marks or imperfections. We see these as part of their character — not flaws, but stories that make your finished piece one of a kind.
All materials are carefully checked to ensure they’re suitable for creative reuse.
💸 Our Pricing
Our materials are priced to be accessible, while reflecting their quality and potential.
Because we work with reclaimed and surplus textiles, availability and pricing may vary over time. Each batch is different, and once it’s gone, it’s gone.
We aim to offer materials at significantly below typical retail value — making it easier to experiment, create, and make more with less.
🔄 Where Our Materials Come From
Our materials come from local makers, businesses, and creative projects that no longer need them.
Through our Stash Swap programme, fabrics and yarns are donated and shared within the community. Materials that aren’t rehomed during our swap events are then sorted, checked, and prepared by our team.
We make them available again through our online shop and textile reuse pop-ups — keeping them in circulation for as long as possible.
