Halloween Rag Wreath Making Kit | Mischief & Magic Palette No. 2
Inspired by striped witch stockings and a little mischief.
Make your own Halloween rag wreath from reclaimed fabrics. This is Halloween Palette No. 2 in our rag wreath collection. Each palette has its own mix of colours, so you can choose your favourite. The kit has a 12 inch copper wire ring, 7 fabrics to cut into strips and tie on, and felt to make your own pumpkin and bat decorations. It's super beginner friendly. You don't need to sew, you just cut, tie and fluff.
This palette is purple, pumpkin orange and grey, with gold-flecked stripes and a teal plaid for a bit of magic. The satins and tulle catch the light.
Every fabric is reclaimed, so no two kits are exactly alike. Your fabrics will vary slightly from the photos.
What's inside
- 1 copper wire wreath ring (12 inch / 30 cm)
- 7 reclaimed fabrics
- 2 sheets of felt (orange and black) for pumpkins, bats and more
- Templates [pumpkin, bat, ghost]
- Instructions
You'll need: scissors. You can also add your own ribbon, buttons or beads if you want to decorate it.
Fabric guide
Mixed reclaimed fibres, including cotton, polyester satin and tulle. Each fabric is a different weight and texture, which gives the wreath its depth.
- Orange satin
- Purple tulle
- Bright purple satin
- Dusky lilac satin
- Purple and grey stripe with gold thread (2 pieces) [confirm: 1 or 2]
- Teal, pink and purple plaid
How it works
- Cut your fabrics into strips. About 2.5 cm wide and 15 cm long works well for a full wreath.
- Tie the strips onto the ring in a double knot, packing them tightly together.
- Keep going until the ring is full, then fluff it up.
- Use the templates to cut out your felt decorations, and add them to the wreath.
- Make a bow from the orange fabric if you like, then attach the hanging loop and hang your wreath.
Perfect for: a front door, a mantel, a Halloween party, a craft night with friends, a first-time maker, or a spooky gift.

🌿 Why Choose Reclaimed Materials?
Reclaimed materials reduce waste in two powerful ways: they keep textiles out of landfill, and reduce the demand for new materials that require energy, water, and raw resources to produce.
By choosing reclaimed, you’re not just sourcing fabric — you’re taking part in a more thoughtful, circular way of making.
We also believe reclaimed materials invite a different kind of creativity — one that’s more resourceful, intuitive, and personal.
🧵 About Reclaimed Materials
Each piece is unique. Photos give a good indication of what you’ll receive, but tones, textures, and sizes may vary slightly from batch to batch.
Because these materials have had a previous life, you may notice small marks or imperfections. We see these as part of their character — not flaws, but stories that make your finished piece one of a kind.
All materials are carefully checked to ensure they’re suitable for creative reuse.
💸 Our Pricing
Our materials are priced to be accessible, while reflecting their quality and potential.
Because we work with reclaimed and surplus textiles, availability and pricing may vary over time. Each batch is different, and once it’s gone, it’s gone.
We aim to offer materials at significantly below typical retail value — making it easier to experiment, create, and make more with less.
🔄 Where Our Materials Come From
Our materials come from local makers, businesses, and creative projects that no longer need them.
Through our Stash Swap programme, fabrics and yarns are donated and shared within the community. Materials that aren’t rehomed during our swap events are then sorted, checked, and prepared by our team.
We make them available again through our online shop and textile reuse pop-ups — keeping them in circulation for as long as possible.
